Ash Octopus

This beautiful octopus is an original design carved by hand out of Ash wood from Minnesota. Makes an excellent desk ornament, shelf decoration, or fidget (though consistent handling may require refinishing with clear polyurethane).  This is easily my favorite piece I have made so far, and my favorite design. I aligned the design in a cookie so that the circles in the woodgrain radiate from the top of the octopus's head, and the effect is absolutely mesmerizing.
