This design combines the modern look of clean edge wood, with the industrial look of the steel pipes. All wood edges will be smooth finished, but some pine wood characteristics will still be present such as knots, uneven grain patterns, small cracks, etc. We personally believe that this adds character to the shelves, but understand it may not fit the aesthetic you're looking for.
