Pastured Stew Hen

Stew Hens are laying hens that have been retired from the pasture. These hens average around 2-2.5 lbs. The meat has a richer flavor than typical chicken which is preferred in many parts of the world. The meat is also tougher than that of a typical cornish cross roasting chicken so we recommend using stew hens for broth, stew and soups, Coq au Vin, or other slow cooking dishes. Our laying hens are fed a NON GMO Corn/Soy FREE Diet.
