900 JACKET IN HADAL BROWN 16 OZ. SELVAGE DENIM
The Type 900 Jacket was designed in 2009, based on research into vintage British Rail workwear and uniform garments, with further references to chore coats and early American jeans jackets. The shoulder seam is slipped down to the front of the jacket, and an outer chest map pocket and an inner chest conductor’s pocket (inspired by the swinging pocket bags of train conductors’ uniforms) are sewn into the chest seam on either side. The jacket is fastened at the front with removable solid cast brass buttons, and tightened at the back with solid cast brass D rings. Tender’s 16oz blue-line selvage denim is custom-woven in Japan, then shipped to the UK loomstate. Ring-spun unbleached American cotton is rope dyed with 25 dips of pure indigo, with no back tinting or sulphur, giving an exceptionally dark blue-black fabric which fades beautifully with wear, and forms an excellent base for other natural and historical overdyes. The yarn is heavily starche
