You can read about the gemstone properties here. The beads on this mala necklace are strung on double-stranded blue gray hemp twine, knotted between every gemstone bead. Tiny glass seed beads have been added in place of knots between wooden beads for a little extra shine! The guru bead is a large carved bone bead. Below the guru hangs the tassel made from buff colored sari silk - silk recycled from shredded Indian robes.  The two little wooden beads just above the guru bead are sandalwood.  Palo san
