Triple Elvis, 2022

Brock's ‘Triple Elvis’ explores one of Andy Warhol’s most iconic artworks, ‘Double Elvis,’ which featured the twin likeness of Elvis Presley. Warhol’s source material was a publicity photo for the movie, Flaming Star (1960), and painted on a silver background to convey a sense of glamour. Brock played on that idea by tripling the figure and foregrounding his own surface quality and gloss.
