Pascal is best known for his monochromatic work, abstract painting style, strong music references and exploration in material creation such as Pascollar (clay mixed with his hair). In Grand Style X, the artist focuses on refining his craft, resulting in a new chapter he refers to as “style x”.With this body of work, Pascal transitions into using color to showcase a more emotive side of his practice, and articulate the feeling state experienced while pausing to examine one’s surroundings—the presence of nature. The artist meditates on his fascination with the cyclical role patterns play in his work and life, how patterns are used as a language, a necessary means of communication.
