Green Tea Wax

INCI Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Wax What It Does Green Tea Wax is soft, creamy wax with a medium-low melting point. Its name is a bit of a misnomer in that it functions less like a wax in formulations and more like an emollient. Green Tea Wax is excellent for reducing transepidermal water loss on skin. In formulations, it has good oil-binding capacity and adds the perfect creaminess at less than 3% use. How It's Made When green tea leaves undergo supercritical CO₂ extraction to remove caffeine from the leaves, the crude wax protecting the leaves is simultaneously removed and collected.
