What are Weathervane Scallops? Weathervane scallops, also known as Alaska scallops, are renowned for their size and are the largest scallops available anywhere in the world. The vessels we obtain ours from shuck, clean, size-sort, box, and rapid-deep-freeze the Alaska Weathervane within four short hours of catch. This process locks in the Weathervane’s natural sweet flavor and delicate texture for scallop connoisseurs to enjoy at home.  Where are Weathervane Scallops Found? Weathervane scallops are harvested from icy, clean Alaskan waters by a carefully regulated dredge fishery, then immediately hand-shucked and frozen at sea. They are found on sand and rock bottoms from 45-182 meters in depth.  Our scallops are "dry packed," natural scallops meaning that during the shucking and packing process they are never soaked in water and preservatives.
