Maribou Throw

Size: 54" x 70" (137cm x 178cm).The Maribou Throw was designed by Jake Hollings, an artist based in Newcastle, UK who is known for his analogue-first approach to image making - from screen printing to risograph or old photocopiers, and the unpredictable textures they leave behind. This design came from one of Jake's daily warm-up collage sessions: loose, unplanned, and made with as little overthinking as possible. He loved the composition and the colours of the paper he chose, so he scanned the shapes, added some digital colour, and it became this piece. An abstract arrangement of angular forms in olive green, mustard yellow, dusty blue, blush pink, and black - with hand-drawn details that give it an organic, tactile energy.
