A Buffalo's Birthright

There, in a Meadow in the Womb. We were at the Jadcherla Cattle Market in Telangana, South India, when I saw Cattle being prodded and packed into a truck. In this painting, I chose a meadow to release one of them. The work is dedicated to a South Indian Classical Music Composer I love: Shyama Shastri (1762 – 1827 CE), for his composition "Kamakshi, Amba, Kanchi Kamakshi" All three phrases invoke Goddess Kamakshi, the Mother of the Universe, in ragam Bhairavi. I've written the dedication in Telugu, faintly, in the lower left corner.
