In Daoist philosophy, the yin and yang represent duality and balance. People often simplify that to good and evil, but it's more complex and nuanced than that. Balance of light and dark, creation and erosion, life and death, order and entropy. This has obvious parallels to the Force in the Star Wars mythos. This pattern is all about those parallels and the importance of balance, wholeness. It's designed to fit snugly in a 7" embroidery hoop and use black or dark colored 14ct Aida. I caution against using cheap aida; if it's not square, the roundness of the design will be ruined.
