Blind contour ink drawing. Both of our boys skate. I’m not sure if it holds the same power it did for me as a kid. I hope so. It was a rebellious, creative, uncharted, inspiring obsession. My parents didn’t get it and that made it even more enticing. The Mcauliffe twins had a quarter pipe in their driveway. Joe twisted his ankle on it one day. I had a launch ramp that practically had vert (unintentionally) we pushed to the tennis courts. I would go to Sean Ahearn’s house, the older kid, and watch Bones Brigade and Santa Cruz videos. It was my introduction to a new definition of art and creativity. It gave me permission to be myself. Thank you skateboarding.
