Aleppo pepper is a common Middle Eastern condiment, also known as the Halaby pepper. The fragrance has a bit of fruitiness and mild, cumin-like undertones. Its flavor is slightly salty (salt is often used in the drying process) and a bit oil. Level 2 Best used to season meat, beans, salads, and muhammara dip, but it can be used like any other dried red pepper. Moderate heat -approx. 10,000 on Scoville scale.
