Drunken Goat, also known as Murcia Al Vino is a wheel of Murciana goat cheese bathed in Monastrell doble pasta wine. The cheese is aged around 45 days, keeping the texture semi-soft and supple. The flavor is mild, with a cultured yogurt tang and slight sweetness from the wine. There’s no ‘goatiness’ to speak of, making it a perfect gateway cheese for folks who don’t normally go for goat cheese. And you are encouraged to eat the rind, its part of the full tasting experience! Awarded by the European Union, PDO - Protected Designation of Origin- means that a cheese is made in a specific place, by specific, time honored methods.  Murcia al Vino is approachable and plays well with others. Great for large gatherings and tapas nights. Sold by: Weight Milk Type: Pasteurized Goat  Origin: Murcia, Spain Pairings: Monastrell, plum membrillo, Marcona almonds, chorizo, Basque peppers. Pilsners and American pale ales. Gin based cocktails.
