Tabata is a relatively new technique to positively impact both your aerobic and anaerobic systems. Invented in Japan, Tabata is really just a variation of high-intensity interval training, but has more specificity in the timing of activity and the rest you take, as well as an increase in focus on maximizing both fast and slow-twitch muscle activation before transitioning moves. Tabata is structured as such: Work out hard for 20 seconds Rest for 10 seconds Complete 8 rounds Because of the high-intensity intervals and 2:1 ratio, most sessions have four or five different moves, totaling around 20minutes. Tabata is truly efficient, and its effectiveness can be seen in bodyweight moves, making it a perfect workout for a time crunch.
