Early Chintz Quilt with Rectangular Panels

This elegant chintz quilt is made of rectangles measuring 9 1/4" x 11 1/4". The rectangles are made of two different prints, each filled with clusters of flowers.  The off blocks are well quilted with concentric V patterns that meet in the center. The border is a similar, larger scale floral pattern than those in the body of the quilt. The quilt has been professionally laundered leaving the  background with a soft ivory color. The quilt is in very good but delicate condition. There is fraying along the binding . Measurements are 78" x 96". Made circa 1830.
