
SiS: BEAUTIFUL 12" Saddle Mountain RIP CUT Conifer Petrified Wood Slab!
This is the latest beautiful surprise we've cut from some of our old stock stone. The finished result is one of the most visually appealing slabs from this fabulous Washington state petrified wood deposit that I've finished yet! The wood grain from this ancient conifier is exceptionally tight and cut as a rip cut (with the grain) to reveal countless growth rings in the mirror polished, gemmy face. This beautifully detailed slab is a rip cut petrified wood specimen carved from a fragment of what must have been an enormous ancient conifer tree! On the lower edge of the stone there are numerous ovals and circles that represent fossil roots that grew as secondary specimens along and under the fallen log. It's a truly fascinating and absolutely beautiful gem fossil display with millions of years worth of stories to tell!
