2-3 Part Mold Making & Slip Casting with KAC Studios

Join Corky of KAC Studios and learn how to make a simple 2 or 3 part slip casting mold. Slip-cast molds allow ceramic artists the ability to create multiples for production pottery to save production time and provide consistency, and also a beneficial tool for artists who want to replicate multiples of an object for use in sculpting. The objective of the workshop is not only to learn how to make a mold, but also to learn slip-casting techniques to add color and design not achievable with handbuilding. Day One (Saturday, August 15th: 11am-5pm): Corky will teach how to prepare the object for mold making, how to mix and pour the plaster and go through the step-by-step process of casting to create a complete mold. Day Two (Saturday, August 22nd: 11am-2pm): Corky will teach how to prepare the slip for pouring. Learning how to color slip using mason stains. Demonstrate various techniques for using colored slip to achieve coloring effects in the mold. Day Three (Sunday, August 23rd: 11a
