#1 Hills Fan- Matt VanFossen

Born in Wheeling, WV in 1984, Matt Van Fossen grew up like many Ohio Valley kids going to the local Hills Department Store. Matt has countless cherished memories shopping with his late mother, Dot Shepard, in the toy department after getting a cherry Icee and of course the iconic fresh Hills Popcorn served in a paper cup. Matt’s love of historic retail extends beyond just Hills as he also collects relics from Ames, Big Bear, Phar Mor, Elby’s Big Boy, and other memorable businesses from the past. Matt is also a country music artist and performs in the tri-state area of Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania where Hills reigned supreme during Matt’s childhood. He has performed at Jamboree in the Hills, has had two top-hit singles, and opened for several well-known artists such as Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, Neal McCoy and many more.
