Persian Star ~ Seed Grade Garlic ~ Hardneck

Persian Star (Samarkand) Persian Star, known as Samarkand, is a standard Purple Stripe garlic. It often has white/silver outer wrappers with colorful red-tipped cloves. The red-tipped cloves resemble a star when the outer wrappers are removed (hence the name). This garlic has a pleasant mild taste profile that is great baked or eaten raw.  Seed Grade: Bulbs over 2 inchesShelf Life: 4-6 months from harvest, so use by the end of October or the end of December at the latest. Be sure to check your build on a regular basis in November and December.Yield: 6-8 bulbs per pound and 72-96 cloves per pound. Expect 8-12 cloves per head.Preferred Climate: Grows best in northern/cooler climates.
