Ube, 2 Pints
What is Ube? Well, I'm glad that you asked. Ube is a purple, tuberous root found in the Southeast Asia region (a food staple of the Philippines). It is a purple yam (but is not a taro or purple potato) with a distinct flavor that is subtle and not overpowering (people describe it as a 'nutty' vanilla). There are only a few ingredients in this ice cream, which includes a natural, purple dye to highlight its purple awesomeness. You'll find small bits of Ube goodness mixed throughout our ice cream providing a little texture to engage more of your senses. You may find Ube ice cream at some specialty grocery stores, but be on the lookout for any artificial dyes (particularly red and blue). California (2023) and the FDA (2024) banned FD&C Red #3 in foods (note, FDA banned it in cosmetics back in 1990). You won't find any of those artificial colorings in our Ube ice cream as we us a natural, vegetable dye. Package Size: You'll receive two (2) pint-size containers (net weight of 12 ounces each) of this ice cream flavor. Each container will be vacuum-sealed for freshness. Limited Personalization: See our Limited Personalization page for more details on how to customize your ice cream even more.
