Quarter-sawn Sycamore and Baltic Birch 23.5" x 21" Hardwood Cradled Substrate

This incredibly beautiful one-of-a-kind quarter-sawn Sycamore and Baltic Birch wooden cradled substrate shimmers with amazing life.  You will love the soft snakeskin appearance of this unique piece.  Just as only mother nature can grow, the amazing figure and scales that show when the wood is quarter-sawn make this piece truly unique.  The glossy appearance of the cradle provides depth and interest like no other.  Rich light honey brown serves as the backdrop for the natural caramel brown snakeskin pattern that dance along the surface.  No two boards are ever exactly the same.   This individually numbered substrate (SAS18) arrives to you ready to go out of the box.  This particular cradle has been pre-sealed top, bottom and sides, next 4 coats of white hard-sandable gesso were applied to only the sealed birch top.  This step creates a hard flat surface to create on.  Lastly, four coats of Marine grade varnish (which helps with UV protection) were applied to only the hardwood.  All you
