Domaine Pelle Sancerre 'Cuvee la Croix au Garde'

Fourth-generation Paul-Henry Pelle organically farms 40 hectares of vines, mainly in Menetou-Salon, but he also has a small plot of Sauvignon Blanc in Sancerre as well. Like the top wines from Chavignol, Pelle's wines drink well on release, but also have the power and precision to age beautifully for 10-15 years, often longer in top vintages. The estate's Sancerre is precise, linear, and deceptively powerful. It offers up classic notes of ripe citrus, green pear, intense mineral, and herbal oils on its concentrated and nervy palate.
