French conductor (1840-1905), violinist, and composer, whose conducting career focused mostly on opera. Fine cabinet photo signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment dated 1898; an original by Pierre Petit (Paris). Size is 4.24 x 6.4 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a 1889 autograph note in French signed by him on a card with the letterhead of the Théatre National de L'Opéra-Comique. Size is 4.3 x 3.25 inches, in excellent condition.
