Ala Silk Scarf

This eye catching earth-toned scarf is handwoven from Borocera wild silk, a species of silk only found in Madagascar.  Its name 'ala' translates to 'forest' in Madagascar, as the mossy green and sky blue colors evoke a natural feeling.   It is 100% Madagascar silk and is handmade using traditional weaving methods that have been passed down from mother-to-daughter for generations. The women of the Lovasoa Cooperative carefully craft each piece in their small village in the central highlands of Madagascar. Made from Borocera wild silk. Completely hand-crafted.  The silk yarn is hand spun with a drop spindle, hand dyed, and handwoven on a floor loom.
