Original Antique Mahogany Folding Pocket Compass by Stanley, London. Circa 1860-1880. Needle lock activates when closed. Paper dial is graduated every degree, with 4 cardinal directions, and 28 points of compass marked. Blued-needle on jeweled pivot. North (N) and South (S) are inscribed on needle. Hidden hinges, front cover inscribed ‘B’. Original, uncracked glass. An incredibly fine precision instrument, still functioning as intended. Inner lid engraved 'STANLEY LONDON' on Wood. Dimensions: 9.25 cm. x 9.00 cm. x 2.00 cm. Diameter (Compass): 7.50 cm. Weight: 3.0 oz.
