Spencer Co. Student Microscope- Temple University

Used by students at Temple University, this Dissecting Microscope by Spencer Co., features all original glass, with magnifying lens on adjustable arm, double-sided mirror for illumination, 2 adjustable clips on beveled glass stage plate, mounted on a cast iron horseshoe base. Circa 1895. Scarcely found, in great condition.  Marked ‘Spencer Buffalo USA’, Charles A. Spencer is known as America’s 1st microscope maker. Magnifying lens is interchangeable- this microscope includes a 6X magnifying lens. Also marked ‘Temple University’ and number ‘74’.      Weight: 4 lbs. 0.8 oz.  Dimensions: 5.5” x 4.25” x 7.00”
