Crassula tetragona "Mini Pine" is named for its mini-pine tree appearance. The name tetragona comes from the Latin "tetra" meaning four and "gona" meaning sides, describing the four-sided columns of this succulent. This variety can grow up to 3 feet tall and become a tree-like shrub. The leaves are bright green with stems becoming brown and woody with age. "Mini Pine" has clusters of small white flowers.  The name Crassula comes from the Latin "crassus" meaning thick, which refers to the fleshy leaves and stems of the plants in this genus. Crassula contains over 200 species of succulent type plants, the majority of which come from the southern tip of Africa. This genus has a wide variety of sizes, ranging from 1" miniature succulents to 6' dense shrubs.
