Signifer Rainbowfish The Signifer Rainbowfish (Pseudomugil Signiferis) is a small, colorful freshwater species of rainbowfish endemic to shallow shores and streams in Eastern Australia. There are also commonly referred to as the Pacific Blue-Eye due to their blue eyes. As a replication of their natural environment, the Signifer Rainbowfish are best kept in a densely planted aquarium with an addition of some floating plants and driftwood roots or branches to diffuse light entering the tank and also provide ample hiding spaces. Growing to about 2 inches in length, the Signifer Rainbowfish requires a minimum tank of 10 gallons for the more diminutive forms while the larger northern forms require a tank substantially bigger. Water temperatures in the tank vary between 20-26°C and a pH range of 6.5-7.5. The Signifer Rainbowfish are usually very peaceful when kept in a well-chosen community.
