Roberto LugoIn considering this year's election I wanted to think about all of the progress that has been made to elect a black president and to nominate a female president. Much of the progress has been made by Women throughout our history as humans, two of those that I hold especially dear are Sojourner Truth and bell hooks. Kristen KiefferOur cup collaboration came from the idea of Founding Mothers and the desire to celebrate the women who’ve gotten us here. My cup offers a great frame for Roberto’s drawings, and relates well to his own work, which also references historical vessels.
