So much is being stirred up and our ways of communicating in 2016 are (for good and bad) aiding that. Seeing how people are coming together and being brave using the tools they have is inspiring and making a difference in how we see things. My drawing is a reference to the painting by Emanuel Leutze of George Washington crossing the Delaware River in 1776. The New York Evening Mirror called it “the grandest, most majestic, and most effective painting ever exhibited in America.” Washington believed in his country and its people enough to take a boat through the bitter cold, ice filled waters of the Delaware River into battle (on Christmas night!) and this painting gave
