Background: Originating from Nanjing Clock Factory (南京钟表厂) in Nanjing city, China in 1955. Hero brand clocks are classic mantel clocks initially produced by the Jiang Nan Clock Factory in the 50s. The brand uses its brand name ‘Hero’ in bold italics as its trademark. 1955, in order to gain a competitive advantage over foreign-produced clocks, over 10 clock companies in Nanjing banded together to establish the Jiang Nan Clock Factory to produce a range of Flywheel brand alarm clocks (飞轮牌闹钟).
