Here is Heckel Bassoon #9959. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a Heckel. Favored by top orchestral bassoonists worldwide, these instruments are prized for their depth and richness. Built during Heckel’s transition to thicker walls (circa 1955), this one offers a bold, expressive tone that sets it apart.  This instrument is in excellent condition. It has just been completely gone over by my master technician and is completely ready to play - please see a video of this bassoon being played on YouTube. This instrument was rescued from a high school (!) where it appears to have had some play, but nothing serious. Finish is original and the Heckel brand is clearly visible on all joints. The Heckel stamp in the boot is clear. This instrument has original keywork, so it does not have the high D or E key. We will have these added in late 2025 if we still have it by then - the price is adjusted to take this into account. We have put this instrument into a brand new Wiseman case f
