Classification of Wine Red Still Wine Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC Varietal: 100% Montepulciano Vintage: 2015 Vineyard Designation: Nocciano, Abruzzo, Italy Soil: 400ft above sea level, dry gravelly clay loam Pruning: Guyot Yield: 10,000 Kg/ha ABV: 13.5% Sulfites: 43 mg/l Winemaking This wine is produced with Montepulciano grapes cultivated on young vineyards in Nocciano, following the principles of organic farming. Grape harvest takes place during the 1st and 2nd weeks of October, depending on ripeness. Grapes are picked by hand, respecting their wholeness and the organoleptic peculiarities that will come out with the wine. Winemaking is carried out in respect of tradition and observing the most modern winemaking methods. Brief cryomaceration with the best grapes for about 7-10 days at a controlled temperature of about 15°C for the first 2 days and at 25-27°C for the following ones. Separated with a soft pressing and allowed to go through both alcoholic & malolactic ferment
