Eared Grebe Cork-back coaster

I fought with one of my dogs to take these fantastic Eared Grebe shots. The struggle was real. Cuache wanted to jump in the water to bring him closer to me. Hahaha! He was a good boy, and he sat at a rock. He wasn’t happy. I was delighted to see this Eared Grebe close. I learned a lot about them on the fly. The real learning comes when I’m editing the photos. You can verify the behaviors of the birds. While swimming, Eared Grebles stretch their necks and look for food. As soon as they see something, they dive into the water creating perfect circles. When you see them swimming, their back feathers are fluffy, but when they dive, they collapse their feathers. I noticed it when editing photos. It’s so wonderful to spend time with my little birdies. No dogs or eared grebes were hurt.
