The Pie Academy Rolling Pin

When we at The Pie Academy buy stuff for our home kitchen, we seldom purchase things that aren’t heirloom quality. So it makes sense that when we set out to design a custom Pie Academy rolling pin, we had to have a tool that was not just beautiful to behold and a pleasure to handle; it had to be something we were confident we could pass along to future generations. Working with a team of fine Vermont artisans, we came up with a French-style rolling pin that met all of our expectations, and then some. Our custom pin has just the right amount of taper for sure handling. And it’s hand turned from a solid block of select maple or cherry hardwood. (Currently available in cherry only.) But we didn’t stop there. We had two sets of markings burned into the pin for quick reference: an outer set, 13 1/2” apart, so you can quickly see if your dough is the right size to fit a 9 1/2” deep-dish pie pan.
