MOONBURN/POSTER, 2014

Poster: 30 x 24" Gallery Frame: 30 x 24" Shadowbox Frame: 32 x 26" "Moonburn," is akin to a sunburn on skin, and shows the transformational effect of overexposure. Initially painted onto black silk with a French vinyl dye, and re-imagined for The Posters, this image was created through a labor-intensive process of natural evaporation, washing, and traditional painting: after a chemical dye was applied to the silk, the material was treated with steam and intense heat, carefully hand washed, and then painted and dyed once again using more conventional methods.  Poster on 80 lb silk McCoy archival paper Printed in the USA  10% of every poster purchased helps fund art classes for kids.
