Infinite Jest, David Foster Wallace    First edition, first printing of Wallace's magnum opus, signed by Wallace to the title page. Housed in a custom made and painted slipcase.  Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1996. Publisher's blue cloth-backed boards, first state jacket with William T. Vollmann's name misspelled on the back panel; pp. (iv), 1079. A near fine copy in a near fine, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains tight, sturdy and square, a hint of softening to spine tips and traces of rubbing to bottom corner of text block. Jacket shows the slightest bit of shelfwear, protected in archival mylar. The case is in excellent condition, made so that it slips over the top of the book with binder's board that slides in the bottom. A fantastic copy in a very attractive case.
