Dwight Eisenhower salutes the American flag in this 1944 war bonds poster, entitled "Back 'em Up - Buy Extra Bonds". The text urges the viewer to buy war bonds to support Eisenhower's troops. Dwight D. Eisenhower is most well known today as the 34th President of the United States, holding office from 1953-1961. He would have been a household name at this point of the war as General Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe.
