Be With Him at Every Mail Call
America's involvement in WWII saw over twelve million citizens serve overseas - almost ten percent of the entire nation's population at the time. This meant everyone "at home" had loved ones far away, and keeping in touch with them was paramount. "V-Mail", short for "Victory Mail", was an innovative solution to get letters to soldiers expeditiously and efficiently. Letters were scanned in the USA, transformed into microfilm, transported via film to their detination, and then printed out and felivered to soldiers. This method cut down greatly on the amoutn of space communication took up in transport. The service was only used from June 1942 to November 1945, but over one billion items were processed through the method. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
