Brides Les Bains Elegante - PLM
This extremely chic poster was created to promote travel to Brides les Bains, a resort town nestled in the valley of three mountains in the Savoie region of southeastern France. The town, whose name comes from the natural mineral baths nearby, is shown as being dynamic here - one can engage in sports like tennis or golf, or take it easy by sipping a drink while wearing the day's highest fashions. Created by PLM train lines, we are told that Brides les Bains is a "station stop for elegant women", which this poster expertly illustrates. This poster was created for the French Railway, P.L.M. – Paris, Lyon, Mediterranee. These three train hubs were the main departure points for rail travel in France during the 1920’s and into the 1930’s.
