This vintage poster for Cordial Medoc liqueur is a nod to the famous Pierrot of Cointreau clown. The brand exhibits its own version of the infamous Commedia Dell'Arte character to promote its "heart-warming" liqueur. Cordial Medoc is a cognac-based French liqueur that traces its roots to 1878. It is infused with over fifteen different fruits and spices, but features cocoa, vanilla, and violet notes most prominently. Henri Le Monnier (1893-1978 created a small body of work in the field of advertising posters. He worked mainly for the printer Affiches Lutetia based in Paris. Most of his designs were created from the 1920's - 1938 and are colorful, spirited, and somewhat humorous much in the style of Leonetto Cappiello and Jean D'Ylen who were more popular at that time. Le Monnier had a fine artistic hand and many of his posters are quite valuable in today's market. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed
