The United States Marine Corps is an elite division of the U.S. Navy that was founded in 1775 during the American Revolution. Marines are known for being physically and mentally tough, and are often the first troops to enter into a military exercise, ahead of the general troops on both sea and land. Here, we see two brave Marines heading into battle, bayonets firmly gripped. Behind them is a battle drummer from the American Revolution, below the phrase 'Semper Fidelis', which is the Latin motto of the Marines which means, "always faithful". The scene is a reminder of the many important battles fought by the Marines in their long and esteemed history. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
