U.S. Marines 167th Anniversary
The United States Marine Corps is an elite division of the U.S. Navy that was founded in 1775 during the American Revolution. Marines are known for being physically and mentally tough, and are often the first troops to enter into a military exercise, ahead of the general troops on both sea and land. Here, we see a brave Marine heading bravely into battle, bayonet firmly gripped. Behind him is a pastiche of an American Revolution battle and the Marines symbols of the eagle, globe, and anchor. Laid atop the scene is a reminder of the many important battles fought by the Marines in their long and esteemed history.
