Black Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon Yarn 5 Yards
Super soft and drapey, this ribbon has a light luster and is just beautiful as a deep and moody black. Because these skeins are "overdyed" black base color with an occasional deep charcoal or even charcoal with a slight bluish, greenish or maroonish cast to it, if seeing it the right light. Still overall black looking though. The wind really kicked up while I was taking pictures so it's a little blurry in a couple of them. Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn. Some edges are frayed or lacy, adding physical as well as visual texture. Shown in different lights, this is an incredibly versatile color. Thinner than the average Sari Ribbon strips, most of these ribbons measure 1/8" to about 1/2" across, with a few having lacy, fringed, or frayed edges for uniqueness. Embellish sc
