1930s Movado Chronometre Curviplan | "Lemrich" Dial | Ref. 11819 | Cal. 510
A stunning example of 1930s design, Movado was renowned for producing some of the finest timepieces of its era. The Curviplan line, featuring an in-house Cal. 510 movement and a distinctly curved case, has become highly sought after in recent years. The manually wound Caliber 510 boasts 15 jewels, a bi-metallic compensation balance, and operates at 18,000 BPH. Unlike its smaller sibling, the "Curvex," the Curviplan is larger with a more pronounced case curvature. Adding to its rarity, this model displays the coveted "Chronometre" inscription on the dial. This signifies the watch has passed rigorous precision tests made by Movado, similar to the later established COSC, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, and meets their strict accuracy standards of +6 to -4 seconds per day—an achievement earned by only about 3% of Swiss watches. What elevates this piece to an even higher level of distinction is its dial, crafted by Lemrich & Co., one of the four premier dial makers
