Adoption- Hanson Buoy

Greetings everyone! My name is Hanson Buoy and I am an adult, female green sea turtle and currently the largest residing at The Turtle Hospital, weighing over 350-lbs. I started off my journey at this facility as a hatchling. I took part in the Fibropapillomatosis Transmission Research Study in 1994. I underwent surgeries for tumor removals and immensely helped aid the research process to under the FP virus. Even though scientists are still studying FP, I was released back into the ocean, happy and healthy, in 1997. Twenty years later, I was rescued due to being struck by a boat, causing the "Bubble Butt Syndrome." I am back in the good hands of the caregivers at The Turtle Hospital and because of my injuries, I cannot be released.
