Early Victorian Woven Hair Bracelet With Scarab Charm
This has to be one of the more unusual hair bracelets we have come across, but the pairing couldn't be more perfect! Immortalizing the pain of loss and the beauty of rebirth, this exquisite woven hair bracelet serves as a poignant reminder that though we will die our memory will continue on. Though this piece has no closure, it has been expertly woven in a way that the hair stretches and expands to fit over ones hand. It is adorned with a beautifully engraved 10k gold tube with a real scarab beetle charm set in brass dangling below. The scarab was most likely added later or used to replace the original charm sometime in the 1880s/1890s, however, the choice and meaning could not be more perfect.
