Alice et Olivier De Moor 'Mont de Milieu' Chablis 1er Cru, 2022

100% Chardonnay from the "right-bank" Premier Cru of Mont de Milieu. The site gets its name because historically it had a boundary running through the middle separating the county of Champagne from the duchy of Burgundy. This cru lies on the side of a hill that is protected by north winds by woods, and gets plenty of sun due to its southeastern exposure, and moderate slopes. De Moor owns .82 hectares of this cru, which is actually the steepest part of the vineyard, and must be farmed manually. The vines are very old and some were planted in the 1930's. It is a concentrated and rich expression of Chablis and would be a great pairing with a pomegranate and honey glazed duck with jasmine rice.
